The Documents module is the care filing cabinet: that drawer where you keep the medical reports, the lab results, the prescriptions… everything that at home tends to end up loose, crumpled or lost exactly on the day it’s needed. Here you have it always at hand and in order. You can put things in two ways: scanning them with the camera (the app takes a photo and the AI «reads» the paper for you) or typing them by hand if you prefer to enter the details yourself. And most importantly for your peace of mind: everything is stored encrypted end-to-end, which put plainly means that only the members of your group can open it. Not even CarePilot can read what you keep in there.
The document list
All your documents live together in a single list. To get there, open the Group tab (in the bar at the bottom of the screen) and enter «Documents».
Search and filter
Once you have a fair few documents stored, you have two helpers to find the one you’re after without going through them all:
- A search : type a word (for example «blood test» or the doctor’s name) and the app keeps only the ones that match.
- Some filters: «All», «Recent» (those from the last 30 days, for what you’ve added lately) and «With photo» (only the ones with an attached image).
Adding a document
To store something new, tap the button (bottom right) and the app will let you choose how you want to create it. Don’t agonize over the choice: both ways store the document equally safely.
Scan it with AI
With «Scan with AI» you only have to take a photo of the paper — the report, the prescription, whatever it is — and the app works for you: it detects what type of document it is, extracts the text so it’s written down and, along the way, fills in the title and the date for you. It’s the most comfortable way, especially if you have a lot of papers. Before finishing, glance over what it has picked up in case something needs correcting, and save.
Or write it by hand
If you’d rather enter it yourself — because you don’t have the paper in front of you, or because it’s a note of your own — choose «Add manually» . Here you fill in the «Title» yourself (so you recognize it later: «Cardiologist’s prescription»), the «Document date» and the «Content». As simple as writing a note.
Attach the original image (Plus/Pro)
Sometimes you want to keep the photo of the original paper as is, not just the text (in case the doctor asks to see the actual report). With Plus or Pro you can do it with «Attach image» , either choosing it from the phone’s gallery or taking a photo on the spot. That image is also stored encrypted, just as protected as everything else. You can attach up to 10 images per document, in case the report has several pages.
Viewing a document
To check something you’ve already stored, tap the document in the list and its detail opens. There you’ll see the content (the text), the «Highlighted items» — dates, values or names that appear literally on the paper and that the app highlights so you spot them at a glance, without the AI interpreting anything — and, if it has one, the original image of the paper. On that image you can pinch with two fingers to enlarge it or double-tap to zoom, in case the report’s print is very small.
Edit or delete
If you created the document, at the bottom you have two options: «Edit» to correct or complete something, and «Delete» to remove it. Before deleting, the app will ask you to confirm («Delete document?»), and with good reason: once deleted it cannot be recovered, neither the text nor the images. That’s why it takes that extra step, so nothing disappears by accident.
Encrypted photos and plans
The essentials are covered on any plan: text documents are stored encrypted always, on the free plan too. What’s reserved for Plus and Pro are the attached photos (the original image of the paper). And depending on the group’s plan, you can store more or fewer documents at once:
| Free | Plus | Pro | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Saved documents | 3 | 30 | Unlimited |
| Attached encrypted photos | — | ✓ | ✓ |
